How can we round off the numbers:

3406 to the nearest 10

27.74 to one decimal place

25.2017 to two decimal places

MYP Maths, Rounding off

If the digit after the one being rounded off is less than 5 then we round down.

If the digit after the one being rounded off is 5 or more then we round up.

Therefore,

3406 to the nearest 10 is 3410

27.74 to one decimal place is 27.7 (has 7 in the first decimal place and 4 in the second decimal place. Since 4 is less than 5 we retain the 7 and delete all digits after it)

25.2017 to two decimal places is 25.20 (has 0 in the second decimal place and 1 in the third decimal place. Since 1 is less than 5 we retain the 0 and delete all digits after it)
