Area of a triangle question

MYP Mathematics Pre-diploma – Trigonometry, Area of a triangle

How can we find the area of a triangle ABC with sides $a=5 \ cm, b=7 \ cm$

and included angle $\hat{C}=60^{\circ}$ ?

The area of a triangle is a half of the product of two sides and the sine of the included angle.

$A=\frac{1}{2}absinC$

Therefore, the area of the triangle is

$A=\frac{1}{2}(5)(7)sin60^{\circ} =\frac{35}{2} \frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}= \frac{35 \sqrt{3}}{4} \ cm^2$
