MYP Maths – Converse of Pythagoras’ rule

How can I check if a triangle with sides 4 cm, 5cm and 9cm is right angled?

Thanks

MYP Mathematics – Converse of Pythagoras’ rule

The Converse Pythagoras’ rule states that if a triangle has sides of length a,b and c where $c^2=a^2+b^2$
then the triangle is right angled.

So in our case we have that
Given that in a right angled triangle the longest side is the hypotenuse
$c^2=9^2=81\not=4^2+5^2=41$

Therefore the triangle is not right angled.

Hope these help!!
