MYP Maths – Pythagoras’ rule

How can I find the length of the hypotenuse in a right angle triangle with known sides 3 cm and 2 cm?

Thanks

MYP Mathematics – Pythagoras’ rule

The rule of Pythagoras states that in a right angled triangle, with hypotenuse c and the other two sides a and b, holds
$c^2=a^2+b^2$

So in your case we have that

$c^2=a^2+b^2\Leftrightarrow c^2=3^2+4^2=9+16=25\Leftrightarrow c=\sqrt{25}=5 \ cm$

Hope these help!!
